Job Title: High School Girls Volleyball Coach (Second Sport/Teaching Assignment to be Determined)

 

Job Summary:

 

The Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the girls' volleyball program at the varsity level. The primary focus will be on player development, team strategy, and fostering a positive and competitive team culture while working closely with student-athletes, assistant coaches, athletic department staff, and parents to ensure a successful and rewarding experience for all team members.

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

      • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that focuses on fundamental skills, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.
      • Conduct regular practices and training sessions to improve individual and team performance.
      • Provide constructive feedback and instruction to players to help them develop their skills and reach their full potential.
      • Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

 

 

      • Develop game plans and strategies tailored to the strengths and weaknesses of the team and opponents.
      • Make in-game adjustments as necessary to maximize the team's chances of success.
      • Manage substitutions, timeouts, and other strategic decisions during matches.
      • Analyze game footage to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.

 

 

      • Collaborate with assistant coaches to coordinate the overall program, including junior varsity and lower-level teams.
      • Recruit and retain talented student-athletes to ensure the long-term success of the program.
      • Organize off-season training opportunities, such as camps and clinics, to enhance player development and team cohesion.
      • Stay up-to-date with the latest coaching techniques, strategies, and trends in girls' volleyball.

 

 

      • Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes on and off the court.
      • Monitor academic progress and ensure that student-athletes maintain eligibility to participate in sports.
      • Serve as a positive role model and advocate for the personal and athletic development of all players.
      • Communicate effectively with players and their parents to address concerns and promote a positive team culture.

 

 

    • Maintain accurate records of team statistics, rosters, and schedules.
    • Coordinate with the athletic department on matters related to scheduling, transportation, and facility use.
    • Ensure compliance with all school, district, and league policies and regulations.
    • Assist with fundraising activities and budget management for the volleyball program.
