Position Title: Technology Technician
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or related experience preferred. Information Technology experience preferred. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable and reasonable
REPORTS TO: Technology Director
JOB GOALS: Performs specialized, technical work supporting and assisting users in the operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and installation of information systems hardware, software and applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The performance responsibilities of this position may include but not be limited to the following:
- Come to work each day adequately prepared, both physically and mentally, to perform the following duties:
- Supports, monitors, tests and troubleshoots user workstation hardware and software problems pertaining to Local Area Network (LAN) and personal computer systems
- Coordinates repair efforts for servers
- Performs a variety of installations and repairs
- Maintains a variety of technical and auxiliary equipment and support systems
- Install computer hardware, software, printers and associated equipment
- Configures workstations and upgrades software
- Provided technical assistance to users experiencing problems with hardware, software, peripheral equipment or computer operation
- Trains and instructs others in the use of computer related hardware and software
- Attend workshops, training sessions and seminars to keep abreast of new computer technology
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Technology Director, building Principal and/or the Superintendent
Physical Demands
· Walking, sitting for extended periods, standing for limited periods, moderate lifting from 15 to 30 pounds, some carrying up to 30 pounds, manual dexterity, repetitive movement of fingers and hands
- Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
